Without Excuse...

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
 There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.  -Psalm 19:1-4

The Lord has made known His salvation; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.  ...All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.  -Psalm 98:2, 3b

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.  -Romans 1:18-20

So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said:“Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, ‘To the unknown god. ’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for

 “‘In him we live and move and have our being’;
as even some of your own poets have said,
“‘For we are indeed his offspring. ’. -Acts 17:26-28

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
 there is none who does good.
 The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man,
to see if there are any who understand,
who seek after God.
 They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;
there is none who does good,
not even one.  -Psalm 14:1-3

And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.  -Psalm 9:10

And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”  So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”  -John 12:32, 35-36

For with you is the fountain of life;
 in your light do we see light.  -Psalm 36:9

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  -John 1:4-5

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.  -John 1:9
